Performance vs Position.

A Priest dies & is awaiting his turn in line at the Heaven's Gates.

Ahead of him is a guy, fashionably dressed, in dark sun glasses, a loud shirt, leather jacket & jeans.

God asks him: Please tell me who are you, so that I may know whether to admit you into the kingdom of Heaven or not?

The guy replies: I am Pandi, Auto driver from Chennai!

God consults his ledger, smiles & says to Pandi: Please take this silken robe & gold scarf & enter the Kingdom of Heaven ...

Now it is the priest's turn. He stands erect and speaks out in a booming voice: I am Pope's Assistant so & so, Head Priest of the so & so Church for the last 40 years. God consults his ledger & says to the Priest: Please take this cotton robe & enter the Kingdom of Heaven ...

'Just a minute,' says the agonized Priest. 'How is it that a foul mouthed, rash driving Auto Driver is given a Silken robe & a Golden scarf and me, a Priest, who's spent his whole life preaching your Name & goodness has to make do with a Cotton robe?'

'Results my friend, results,' shrugs God.

'While you preached, people SLEPT; but when he drove his Auto, people PRAYED'

"It's PERFORMANCE & not POSITION that ultimately counts."

The Challenge!

The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the water close to Japan has not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went farther than ever. The farther the fishermen went, the longer it took to bring the fish. If the return trip took more time, the fish were not fresh. To solve this problem, fish companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen fish. And they did not like the taste of frozen fish.

The frozen fish brought a lower price. So, fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks, fin to fin. After a little thrashing around, they were tired, dull, and lost their fresh-fish taste. The fishing industry faced an impending crisis! But today, they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan. How did they manage? To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks but with a small shark. The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh!

Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired and dull? Basically in our lives, sharks are new challenges to keep us active. If you are steadily conquering challenges, you are happy. Your challenges keep you energized. Don't create success and revel in it in a state of inertia. You have the resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Put a shark in your tank and see how far you can really go!

Give and Take.

Tolerance and the adjustability are the two magic words which are required now a days to sustain in this world of myseries. We are seeing lots of divorces stories in the media in which the key factor is misunderstanding. Why this misunderstanding between the life partners reduced? is that due to the Non-intimacy, work pressure or Ego...

In my childhood my father used to tell us a story which gives an example for give and take policy one have to adapt in life and how it helps us to get not only intimacy intimacy but develops good attitude between people.

Here it goes...

In a jungle there lived a elephant couple. They lived happily as there is no shortage of supplies for their living and loved each other company. Suddenly there was a shortage in the food as there was no rain in the monsoon time. There was shortage of the drinking water, both the elephants walked for a long distance in search of some drinking water. Finally they found a small pond of water which is enough for only one elephant. The male elephant told the other that u seemed very thirsty so drink first and they if there is anything remaining i will have the rest. But the female elephant told the same thing but the other way around. Then they come to the conclusion that both of them put the trunks in to the water and drink equal amount of water so that both can get rid of the thirsty to some level. Both agreed and put the trunk and started drinking water but the water level in that small pond did not reduced. Actually the story ends in the way that the male elephant thought that atleast the female elephant drink water, the same as the female elephant which thought the male elephant drink the water. They laughed at each other and started drinking water equally and left.

We can consider this story for sharing of resources what we have or height of intimacy that we can get in to if we have the tolerance or give and take policy.

Heart or Brain..

Commonly we say dont have two minds when you are taking some important decisions in life. What are these two minds? I think this refers to the "Heart" and "Brain". What is the difference between them even though both are in the single body.

For Instance, when we are thinking about some decisions we need to take in life, we will be in huge struggle like what will happen later when i do like this. and why cant i do it in the other way? what makes us to think like this. Some they say for a particular situation do what heart says! and in the other do as Brain Says!. Heart always tell what you want in life . But Brain always tell what are the way to do it and what will happen if you do it. Brain analyzes both the positive and negative things about the particular situation. There is always a conflict between the two. Heart will say lets do it. But brain say dont do, if you do this the effect will be like this ( it will simulate the scenario in the mind). So usually it is very difficult for us to take a decision. For Example, When you want a particular girl in your life. Heart will say i like the girl lets try it and get it. But brain will put a hurdle saying some after effects you may face when u approach the girl. Finally we will be in the confusing state, by which one we have to take in to account and take action.. Heart or Brain??

Snakes and Ladders.

Life is full of ups and downs where we don't know when what will happen. I feel the resemblance with the snake and the ladder board game we used to play. We roll the dice which is are the actions we do in our own life. the squares which present in the board are the life paths we have to proceed. The ups and downs are mentioned in the way of ladders and snakes. There are many snakes and ladders with different sizes which leads to the different squares. In life what ever the decision we take, we are responsible for that we can blame others for it. when we play the game we will understand that it very clearly that we are rolling the dice and the result will be vary and based on the results we may be either bitten by the snake or go upwards through ladder. After all these oppurtunities and obstacles it is how we reach the end point to finish the game.I think in earlier days these types of games are played for motivating one to proceed through the life.

People who are lucky will reach top at the earliest others have to try hard and reach.

Piggy Bank.

In this modern world how many people really conscious about spending money. You can easily find it through the spending nature of the people. I noticed this in my trip to taiwan, where there is very much less saving and more of spending. Government is encouraging the citizens to spend money but only their money, not by getting personal loans or any kind of loans,That way the money will always in the circulation instead of accumulating in one person. In Our country there are more black money than the white money and people hiding the money which they earn from the government by not paying tax. They simply say that i am hiding the money r saving it for the rainy day when there is a need for it. Not paying tax is not fine, but saving money for the rainy day is good. But as i said earlier in other countries where there is very little savings people are living a very good and happy life.

I am not able to understand which is good - Saving money of the Rainy day or just spending money what you earn?? Can you people out there help me???

Rocky Balboa /:)

Life is not about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

When i heard this words in the movie i started realising and comparing it with my own life, Getting hit from every direction(Job, Home, Everywhere) and moving forward with the injuries we got as a experience for the better life.
